GPA Calculations
The GPA is one of several factors considered when determining which GEMSAS applicants are invited to interview and offered a place in graduate entry medicine courses.
GEMPASS Australia Medical Schools have reviewed the calculation of GPAs across Medical Schools and have agreed on a framework and rules around the calculation of a base GPA (the details of which can be found in the resources linked below).
Medical Schools often however have local variations in how they calculate their GPAs, including which studies are used.
Each Medical School has also determined how to manage 2020 results that may have been impacted by COVID-19.
For details about each Medical School’s GPA calculation and how it’s used for selection purposes, see the Medical School entries in the Medicine Admissions Guide.
